Thank you so much for the compliments!
Of course, no problem at all: the lenses I used were practically only two , AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED for "environmental" shots (except for few - some at the Gate Guardian Mirage - where I used the AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8G ED) and AF VR Zoom-Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED for the others.
To be honest: some of the close up are so "close" because they are either a little cropped in editing and because I was in a much better position compared with the general public: as a pilot and crew member (WeFly! Team) I was allowed to walk almost everywhere around the airbase, so I spent most of the time behind the control tower or at the side of it, that means directly under the display line and thus much closer to the aircrafts.
Anyway, IMHO the best compromise still the 80-400mm (I still own the first serie, but the new one seems to be much better); longer lenses (500mm or 600mm) are performing certainly better, but on the other hand they have two disadvantages: their price is really high and the more the distance you have from the aircrafts, the more the air in between is degrading the image (you'll have pollution, smokes, hot air distortions, etc.). Without thinking about their weight and size...
